The TPI 721 Combustible Gas Leak Detector is a sophisticated instrument that can provide readings for actual ppm (0 to 9999ppm) as well as for stepped ppm and percentage of lower explosive limit (%LEL). Several different hydrocarbon gases can be detected including methane, propane and butane by the sensor which is located on the end of a 16” flexible goose neck for reaching inside and behind obstacles. The sensor can detect gas concentrations of as little as 10ppm and the head of the goose neck has a separate visual alarm indicator to warn of gas presence.
Readings are displayed on the TPI 721’s backlit LCD display which also features an analogue bar graph. The tic rate can be changed with a thumb dial to help locate leaks quickly whilst audible alarms can be set to sound at a user-adjustable threshold. The batteries provide for around 20 hours’ continuous usage and the detector is covered by a three-year warranty.
